The caps decide this one. A 20% code capped at ₹500, like GOJAIPUR20 or GOGOA20, reaches its limit on a ₹2,500 booking, so on a ₹3,000 Jaipur stay it gives ₹500 while ZOU10 gives ₹300. The two only level out at ₹5,000, where 10% also comes to ₹500, and above that ZOU10 pulls ahead because its listing names no cap. ESCAPE20 (Chikmagalur) and SOCIAL20 (Rishikesh Tapovan) cap at ₹1,000 instead, so they give the full 20% all the way to a ₹5,000 booking, double what ZOU10 would. Groups should skip the city codes entirely: eight people booking ₹8,000 of beds get ₹1,600 off with GROUP20, against ₹500 from any city code. The code also has to suit the people as well as the price. Five friends can’t use GROUP20, so GROUP15 is their pick, and ₹6,000 at 15% is ₹900.
What goSTOPS sells and what it costs
goSTOPS runs hostels at more than 30 locations across India. Its App Store listing names Leh, Kasar Devi, Delhi and Bengaluru among them. You can book a dorm bed, a private room or a shared group space, and the chain also does long stays, workations, coliving, team offsites and events.
Listed nightly prices start at ₹264 and run up to ₹1,499 depending on the property and room type. Workations start at ₹1,000 a week and coliving at ₹9,999 a month. GST is added on top, and rates move with season and availability, so the figure you first see may not be what checkout shows. It’s budget travel, not boutique hotels, but at ₹264 a night that was never the deal.
Every hostel has a café open 24 hours with veg and non-veg food you order through the app, which is why the list includes food codes like GO500 (20% off orders of ₹500 or more) and HAPPY50 for happy-hour drinks at the Kasol PLUS café.
Booking direct versus MakeMyTrip, Booking.com and Hostelworld
goSTOPS properties are also listed on MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, Hostelworld, Trip.com, ixigo and Kayak. We found no source comparing prices across these channels, so check both before you book.
The terms do settle two points. Membership benefits, meaning the GOPRO, GOLEGEND, GOINSIDER and GOBASIC discounts plus goCOINS, apply only to bookings made on the goSTOPS website or app, not through an online travel agent. And a booking made on an OTA has to be cancelled through that OTA, not by emailing goSTOPS. If you hold a membership, or think your plans might change, booking direct is simpler.
When goSTOPS runs its offers
We found no named annual sale. Instead, goSTOPS keeps a rolling deals page: 10% off all bookings, group discounts at selected hostels, property offers of 15 to 20% capped between ₹500 and ₹1,000, and café discounts. The page itself says offers change and that the price at checkout is final.
The one timing-based offer is EARLYBIRD: 20% off when you book 30 or more days ahead. It’s limited to Pro and Legend members, so non-members planning a month out are better served by ZOU10 or a city code.
Membership: is it worth it
The goSTOPS Travel Membership lists up to 25% off every booking, up to ₹800 cashback as goCOINS (1 goCOIN is ₹1 off a future booking), free meals and up to three early-bird discounts. Pro gets 25% off every stay capped at ₹500 with no expiry, while Basic gets 20% capped at ₹400 for up to three bookings.
The price wasn’t shown on the membership page, so we can’t do the maths for you. Note the catches in the terms: the fee is paid upfront for 12 months, it isn’t refundable or transferable, and unused goCOINS expire with the membership. It only pays off if you’ll make several direct bookings in a year.
Cancellation and refunds
There’s nothing to ship, so the question that matters is cancellation. You can cancel or change a direct booking free of charge up to 5 days before check-in, until 11:59 pm on the cutoff day. For an 8 January check-in, the cutoff is 3 January. After that, no changes are allowed. To cancel, you email goSTOPS.
Non-refundable bookings don’t get free cancellation. A no-show is charged 100% of the booking, leaving early earns no refund, and neither does booking a dorm for the wrong gender. When a refund is due, goSTOPS processes it straight away, but it can take up to 10 days to reach your bank.
Two rules can stop a booking outright: guests must be 18 or older, and foreign nationals can’t stay at Gurugram, Jaipur Civil Lines, Mussoorie Mall Road or Goa Candolim. That matters if you’re eyeing GGN15, GOHILLS20 or GOGOA20 on a foreign passport.
Using a goSTOPS code, and what to do if it’s refused
- Book on the goSTOPS website or app, not an OTA, especially for membership codes.
- Pick a code that matches the booking: a city code only works at its named property, GROUP15 needs 4 to 6 people and GROUP20 needs 7 to 14.
- Check minimum spends: GGN15 needs ₹500 and GOINDORE15 needs ₹400. Food codes have their own, ₹300 for GO300 and ₹500 for GO500.
- Use membership codes only on the matching tier: GOPRO for Pro, GOLEGEND for Legend, GOBASIC for Basic, GOINSIDER for Insider. Basic and Insider are limited to three bookings.
- Order through the app for FOOD20 at the Udaipur PLUS café, which is app-only.
- If a code is still refused, try ZOU10, GO10 or GRABON10, the general 10% codes, and compare the final price including GST before paying.
